In the heart of Vercors mountains, in edge of a beautiful forest, the Saintes Glaces cave opens its door with this huge and dark hole called “Le trou qui souffle / The blowing hole”. You can’t even imagine that a 50km underground system is hiding beneath your feet.
This speleology experience is a one return trip to the “hydrokarst room” an immense underground chamber, 250m down from the surface.
The first part is a way down toward the impressive chamber, toggling between abseilling descents, meandering paths and easy descents on limestone rock
Lunch time and hot drink in the Hydrokarst chamber, before heading back up. The guide will teach you and show you how to ascend a rope.
The return is most about ascending ropes, easy climbing and still these amazing meandering paths.See more
